At 9:46 pm, a fire was reported near Kane. The fire was reported to be at Nelson’s Junk Yard, on Route 6, west of Kane. It was unknown what the type of fire was, but the caller reported a large amount of black billowing smoke. Kane FD was dispatched to the scene.

Route 6 Closed for an Extended Period of Time From Solomon’s Words Roulette and Coudersport Fire Rescue and Ambulances have responded to a two vehicle accident on Route 6 at Mina Road, shortly after 8:00 am on Thursday. One of the vehicles is reported to be a tractor-trailer. Possible ejection is reported.

At 1:53 am, employees reported that a store was filling with smoke. The incident occurred at the Sheetz store in Emporium. The initial report said that the source might have been an electrical fire. Crews arrived on scene and determined the problem to be a malfunctioning hot water tank.

Around 1:35 am, a fire was reported in Saint Marys. The fire was reported at 1109 Route 255, at the Laurel Run Texaco. The Laurel Run Texaco is located next to the Country Fair Store, across the street from the WalMart entrance. Upon arrival, crews reported a heavily involved 1 story commercial building.

At 12:07 pm, a fire was reported in the City of Bradford. The fire was reported to be at 186 High Street. The caller stated that he thought the fire was out, but couldn’t be sure. A child’s clothes on a heater was the reported cause, according to the caller.

All services at PennDOT Driver License and Photo Centers across the state will resume during regular business hours on Thursday, Jan. 28. Centers were temporarily unable to issues driver’s licenses, identification cards or take photos today, due to a fiber optic line cut by a contractor working near one of PennDOT’s facilities.
